At Sharing Houseboat, we understand that plans can change. This Cancellation and Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions for canceling your houseboat booking and the applicable refund procedures.

We encourage you to read this policy carefully before making a booking. By completing a reservation, you agree to the terms outlined below.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing via email or through our website. The cancellation date is determined by when we receive your written notice.

Important: Refund amounts are calculated based on the number of days before the scheduled check-in date that we receive your cancellation notice.

Cancellation Charges

Refund Process

Refunds will be processed according to the following guidelines:

  • Refunds will be credited to the original payment method used for booking
  • Processing time: 7-14 business days from the date of cancellation approval
  • Bank processing may take an additional 3-5 business days
  • You will receive a confirmation email once the refund is processed
  • Any transaction fees or payment gateway charges are non-refundable
Note: Refund timelines may vary depending on your bank or payment provider. If you haven't received your refund within 21 business days, please contact us with your booking reference number.

Booking Modifications

If you need to modify your booking dates or details:

  • Modifications are subject to availability and must be requested at least 7 days before check-in
  • One free modification is allowed up to 15 days before check-in
  • Additional modifications may incur a fee of ₹500 per change
  • Price differences for new dates will be charged or refunded accordingly
  • Modifications made within 7 days of check-in are treated as cancellations

Special Circumstances

Weather-Related Cancellations

In case of severe weather conditions or natural disasters:

  • If local authorities issue weather warnings, we will offer full refund or rescheduling
  • Customers can choose to reschedule without any additional charges
  • Weather-related cancellations must be verified by official meteorological reports

Medical Emergencies

In case of genuine medical emergencies:

  • Valid medical certificates must be provided within 48 hours of cancellation
  • We offer flexible rescheduling or partial refunds based on circumstances
  • Final decision rests with management and is handled on a case-by-case basis

Service Provider Cancellations

If we need to cancel your booking due to unforeseen circumstances:

  • You will receive a full refund (100% of the booking amount)
  • Alternative accommodations of equal or higher value will be offered if available
  • Compensation for any additional reasonable expenses may be considered

Non-Refundable Items

The following items are non-refundable under any circumstances:

  • Booking fees and service charges
  • Payment gateway or transaction fees
  • Third-party service fees (if applicable)
  • Add-on services already consumed
  • Special promotional discounts or vouchers
No-Show Policy: If you fail to show up for your reservation without prior cancellation notice, no refund will be provided, and the full booking amount will be forfeited.

How to Cancel Your Booking

To cancel your booking, please follow these steps:

  • Send an email to info.sharinghouseboat@gmail.com with your booking reference number
  • Include your full name, contact details, and reason for cancellation
  • You will receive a cancellation confirmation email within 24 hours
  • Refunds will be processed according to the timeline mentioned above

• Scheduled Check-in Date

Group Bookings

For group bookings (5+ houseboats or 30+ guests):

  • Special cancellation terms may apply
  • Advance notice of at least 45 days is recommended
  • Partial cancellations are allowed with adjusted refunds
  • Please contact our group booking team for specific terms

Dispute Resolution

If you have any concerns or disputes regarding cancellations or refunds:

  • Contact our customer support team within 7 days of the issue
  • Provide all relevant documentation and booking details
  • We aim to resolve all disputes within 14 business days
  • Final decisions will be communicated via email

Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Cancellation and Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of our services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

For bookings made before policy changes, the terms applicable at the time of booking will be honored.
